July 27th update from Shane.

Shane actually called today for the first time in a month. He sound so good and actually laughed on the phone, which he has not done in a long time. He said the move from the office relieved a lot of stress and that now he actually is doing what he loves, real soldier work and that he gets rest. He said this was the best move he could have made. He is now with guys from Lucedale.

27 July 2005,

I woke up about 7:00 A.M. then SSG Collins (My Squad Leader) came in and ask if I knew where my weapon was. I picked it up off my bunk and showed him. (Someone must have left their weapon lying around somewhere in the FOB. So the Squad Leaders were checking all their people.) I got dressed and shaved then went and got some breakfast. I ate one sauage and decided I really didn't want breakfast. It wasn't that I was not hungry it just wasn't very good.

Then I went back to my tent and I guy by the name of Dye who I was on OP 3 with the night of the 26 July 2005 let me borrow the first season of 24. So I watched it most of the day.

I had tomato soup for lunch with crackers and cheese of course. It was good. I don't have any microwave any more so I set it out in the sun and let the sun warm it up.

24 is a great series I am on the 3 disk it is different because the whole show only reveals around an hour if on day. So the entire seasons is 24 hours. But it is pretty good. I like it a lot. After I got through with the first disk I would go and check and see if anything has come up for me do.

I started pacing the floors thats for sure, I am not use to this. Well about 6:00 P.M. SFC Mote my platoon sergeant came and told me that I was going to pad 2 as an over watch. I was in the FOB so me and a guy name Havard went out there until 12:30 A.M. on the 28 July 2005. We didn't see a thing. We were so bored. I was actually fighting sleep when our releif got there. I took about 5 minute to get back to the company area. I went and took a shower and went to sleep. And sleep very good actually. Well that was all that happened yesterday. I will let you know how tomorrow goes.

I am going back out to Dog Patch tomorrow so I will not be able to e-mail tomorrow. I can't wait to get to Dog Patch it is get out there away from everyone just me and the squad. I love it.

Send some more cheap old movies like John Wayne. Thanks for they one you have already sent. I like that Daniel Boone if you find any more of them send them.
