August 11, 2005 email

Note: Anyone want to send Shane season 2 or 3 of the show '24'? He would love it. I just bought him season 1. They have it online and at bestbuy.

Yeah I tried calling you three times yesterday. Once at home and twice on your cell. You have the hardest time with that cell phone don't you? So I called Dad instead.
Everything is going fine here, I am just tired right now.
I had duty until 7:00 this morning so I am getting ready to go to bed.
As for 24 I have seen all three seasons. Just finished up the third on yesterday. I think you would like the show.
I got your e-mail from Heather Bowman about her husband going to the 150th. I couldn't e-mail her back. But all the Medic's go to HHC 150 and they assign a different one to us everyday. But as far as I know no new personnel has come in yet. They are still more than likely at Brigades location. But I will keep my eyes open for him. I will let you know when he gets here, that way you can tell his wife. Or if you here from her let me know and I will try and look him up. Send here a copy of that blog you are doing.

It is funny my group didn't have any problems in the bowl it was all the groups behind me that had the problems. It helps when you are the ones leading the way. You blaze the trail that everyone else follows. And you don't eat as much dust. I sure ate my share though behind that M-1 Tank.

10 and 11 August 2005
Yesterday was a calm and noneventful day for me and my squad. It was my squads turn to do OP duty, so after we got off of the morning patrol of the Triangle, we ate those REAL EGGS again.
It was 'soldier maintains' until it was time for you to go on shift at OP 3. I didn't have to go on until 1:00 that night or in the morning. So I had the whole day to myself.
So I finished the third season of 24 and took it easy. Went to eat supper about 6:00 P.M. and we had steak. It was pretty good.

I did a little different tonight and got me dinner to go and went back to my tent and ate my dinner while a watched a movie. I laid around until it was time for me to go on duty. I got up about Mid Night to get ready and to make sure Duiett was up and going which he was.
We left about 12:30 12:45 to go out there. We had a very uneventful night. He seems like he is a pretty good kid. he just turned 20. God was I ever that young?
So we were out there until 7:00 this morning when the relief should up right on time which was a good sign for us. When we got back to the FOB the rest of the squad was getting ready to go out to Dog Patch. I didn't get to go this time because me and Duiett go back on OP at 7:00 tomorrow morning and the guys do not get back until about 8:30 the next morning. So we have to stay back this time. But we go back you to Dog Patch Saturday I beleave and I get to go then. Which is great. Everything is going good here just getting ready for bed.

Tell Blake that I hope he has fun at school and that I know he will do good.
He always does. Tell him that I am very proud of my big boy. And thank him for helping to get Drew Boy out of trouble and looking out after him.

I love you so very much and can't wait to feel you in my arms again.
Still not real sure when we are going home, but it is looking more and more like Mid January before we get there. Late Christmas but that is going to be O.K.

To My Lover and My Best Friend
Shane
