Day 235 of 365 Days
130 days to Go!

05 September 2005

We got up this morning about 0530 or 0600 in the morning because it was our turn to have QRF (Quick Reaction Force). We didn't get called out this morning so we started breaking things things down and cleaning up getting ready to go home. It is about time.
Not many of the guys complained any more than normal about doing this because it means time is getting close to time to come home.
We washed and cleaned and packed tents away until dinner. After dinner we got cleaned up and took a break because we had a patrol at 2300 or 11:00 P.M.
At about 2230 or 10:30 P.M., me and my crew were double checking everything to make sure we were ready to go. We loaded up and out the gate we went. Nice, quick and fast, just the way we like them. We got back in about midnight and everyone got ready for bed because we had Dog Patch in the morning.

We got up at the same time as yesterday for our trip out to Dog Patch. We got out there and relieved Second Patrol Group and took over. Things went great. I took my chair out there to sit in and read my book while I waited for my turn on the roof. It was windy all day. So when my second and last shift came up around mid night it was down right cool up there on that roof. We actually had to cut of the A/C in the sleeping rooms. It was freezing in them.

Well we got relieved from Dog Patch by 4 Patrol Group and headed back to the FOB for a nice hot shower to get the dirt of Dog Patch off of us. Me and Duiett had OP 3 from 1300 to 1900 (1:00P.M. to 7:00P.M.). Everything went great. Nice and boring just the way I like get. Got back and borrowed a movie from Duiett called evolution and it was funny I haven't laugh at loud at a movie like that in my life. I don't know if it was they movie or that I just needed a good laugh. And that ended my night. Doesn't look like I have anything on the schedule for tomorrow I sure hope that doesn't change.

Maybe you could help pass along this list of 13 soldiers from MS National Guard's 155th Brigade Combat Team who have not heard from their families since before August 29.
